You give a tenth of mint, rue and all kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.” (Luke 11:42) Dear brothers and sisters, in this verse the Lord Jesus Christ clearly teaches an important truth. The Pharisees were very careful in giving tithes (one-tenth). They even counted and gave from the smallest herbs to God. But at the same time, they completely neglected the more important matters—justice and the love of God. What does the Lord say? “You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.” This means giving tithes is not wrong… He clearly says it should not be neglected. But here is a strong warning: 👉 Giving tithes alone is not enough 👉 Our heart must also be pleasing to God What should we do? 1. Give tithes – it is a sign of obedience Giving back a portion of what God has given us is our gratitude 2. Practice justice – there should be truth and righteousness among people We must live without doing injustice to anyone 3. Have the love of God – our heart should truly be toward God Inner attitude matters more than outward actions Dear beloved, God is not asking only for our money… He is asking for our heart, our love, and our whole life. Give your tithes ✔️ But at the same time: 👉 Practice justice 👉 Live with love 👉 Show mercy Only then will our life become a complete offering to God.
