Good morning family
Mark 11 is powerful, it speaks about authority, faith, and true worship. Three key moments stand out: Jesus enters Jerusalem, cleanses the temple, and teaches about faith.
*1. The Triumphal Entry â Recognizing the King*
âHosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!â (Mark 11:9)
Jesus enters humbly on a donkey, yet He is the King. The people praised Him, but many didnât truly understand Him.
*Teaching:*
Itâs possible to celebrate Jesus outwardly but miss Him inwardly. True worship is not just words, itâs surrender.
*2. The Fig Tree â The Danger of Empty Religion*
âMay no one ever eat fruit from you again.â (Mark 11:14)
The tree looked alive but had no fruit. Jesus uses this as a picture of a life that appears spiritual but lacks real transformation.
*Teaching:*
God is not looking for appearances, Heâs looking for fruit. Our lives must reflect Him, not just our words.
*3. Cleansing the Temple â A Pure Heart for God*
âMy house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.â (Mark 11:17)
Jesus clears out what doesnât belong in the temple.
*Teaching:*
We are now His temple. Anything in our lives that distracts from God - sin, compromise, misplaced priorities, must be removed.
*4. Faith That Moves Mountains*
âIf anyone says to this mountain, âGo, throw yourself into the sea,â and does not doubt⊠it will be done.â (Mark 11:23)
*Teaching:*
Faith is not passive, it speaks, believes, and trusts God fully.
But Jesus also connects faith with forgivenessâŠ
âAnd when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive themâŠâ (Mark 11:25)
Unforgiveness can block what faith is trying to release.
*Message:*
God is calling us to:
* Real worship (not just words)
* A fruitful life (not empty religion)
* A clean heart (a true temple)
* Bold faith (without doubt)
* A forgiving spirit
*Devotion / Prayer:*
Lord, help us not to just look like believers, but to truly live for You. Cleanse our hearts, remove anything that doesnât honor You, and grow real fruit in our lives. Teach us to walk in bold faith and to forgive freely. Let our lives reflect Your power and Your presence. In Jesusâ name, Amen
*Closing Thought:*
A life rooted in Jesus will always produce fruit, and faith like that can move mountains.
