Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
In three weeks of practicing being retired, I have finished my latest book, entered two writing competitions, working on a third competition, stepped up to help organize a fundraiser, created a foundation of stability in my house, been able to spend more time with my mother, set up at three different events, and … most importantly, truly … truly found peace.
In this peace, I have drawn closer to Him. I am getting more comfortable with what he has asked me to do … it still freaks me out that he wants me to become ‘more’ socially active in spreading the Good News. I saw a video clip of a deaf man who signs worship songs. In one of his posts, he explained that he argued with God about ‘who’ wants to see a deaf man signing music … God told him to let Him worry about that. His videos get huge views and responses.
Whether or not the content that He has me put out there goes viral…or not…does not concern me. It truly does not. That is His part in this project. My part is simply to obey and follow Him. From what He has given me in these last three weeks, I have absolutely no reason to doubt … I will tell you this, the enemy is hard at work to push me and turn my head in the direction of failure and where I came from before I was blessed with this job…but … the enemy has not won. I have not returned to work. I have accomplished so much in the last three weeks … just three weeks … and all with the peace of God holding me.
Now, in 3 weeks from now, I will be officially retired. The middle of may is technically my retirement date, so I am anticipating the heat to be increased, the doubts to come more frequently, the challenges to arise that I did not foresee …. All of which … I cannot stop from arriving, but I can stop and adjust how I respond. The unknown is scary. That is what feeds the enemy. My intent is to do my due diligence in starving him, by feeding myself the Word.
Today’s adventure is to finish the third competition piece. Research how to bundle my series. Follow up on bills to make sure I really did pay them. Most importantly, spend time … alone … in His presence … and clear my mind of any doubt that is starting to creep up. Yes, yesterday was His day, but in my world … every day is His day and if I am going to be successful, I need to sit with him even more than I do now. Maybe, maybe we will go for a walk. We have not done that in a while.
Today, while you are in your workday, arguing with Murphy and his law … take a few moments … intentional moments … several throughout the day … sit with Him … in His calm, His silence, His peace, His Love. Sit and center yourself … then you can tell Murphy to kick rocks.
Be blessed.
