LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.

Paul said the man of sin would sit “in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God” (2 Thess. 2:4). The New Testament identifies the church as God’s temple, built on Christ and the apostles as “an habitation of God through the Spirit” (Eph. 2:20–22). So this is a power arising within the professed church, not outside it.

Isaiah declares that it is the LORD God of Israel who dwells “between the cherubims” (Isa. 37:16). That place belongs to God alone.

The antichrist is not only one who opposes Christ, but one who stands in the place of Christ. By exalting human authority in the church and claiming divine prerogatives, the papal system fulfills that very principle. Christ alone is our Head, our Priest, and our Mediator. Any system that puts man in His place reveals the spirit of antichrist.

The throne between the cherubim is not for man.
