DID YOU KNOW?
IS YOUR "BELIEF" ACTUALLY DISOBEDIENCE?

Most people read John 3:36 and see the word "believe" twice. But in the original Greek, God uses two completely different words to describe your response to His Son.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life...” — John 3:36

1. The Trusting Heart (Pisteuōn)
The first "believeth" is Pisteuōn. It means a deep, relational trust. It is the act of leaning your entire weight on Christ. It is a heart that says, "I trust You with my life."

2. The Rebellious Heart (Apeithōn)
The second "believeth not" is Apeitheō. This word literally means "to be disobedient" or "to refuse to be persuaded." Think about the gravity of this:
God doesn't say the opposite of belief is "doubt."
He says the opposite of belief is DISOBEDIENCE.

If you say you "believe" in Jesus, but you willfully reject His commandments—like the specific Day He made Holy—you aren't just "unsure." According to the Greek, you are Apeithōn. You are refusing to be persuaded by the King.

The Verdict:
You cannot truly trust (Pisteuōn) the Son while you are actively rebelling (Apeithōn) against His Word.

True belief is inseparable from obedience. One leads to Life; the other leaves you under the wrath of a rejected Covenant.

Are you trusting... or are you just refusing to be persuaded?
