Surviving Divorce.

It’s true that God does not like divorce, as He created the sanctity of marriage. He wanted a man and a woman to enjoy and share life together - to love each other, supporting each other through the hard times and share joy in the good times. But the reality is, you can’t force someone to love you, and in this day and age, neither can you force someone to stay married to you. If one in the relationship wants out, there is nothing you can do but pray and ask God to help you change the things you can change, and accept the things beyond your control. Although divorce ends a marriage, it’s important not to let it end your relationship with God! All too often, following a divorce, people blame God and turn away from their Lord and Savior. They allow bitterness and anger to dwell in their hearts, which snuffs out any chance of happiness. Don’t allow resentment to separate you from God - not for one moment, not ever. Losing your spouse is devastating - but nothing is worse than missing out on eternity with Jesus! Your relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship you can have. God alone holds the cure for a broken heart, and the only remedy for surviving divorce is to forgive, forget, and move on with Jesus! Text: Psalm 143:8, Colossians 3:8, Jeremiah 31:3-4, Malachi 2:16
