The Harvest Is Ready
When Jesus looked at the crowds, He didn’t just see people—He saw souls. He saw brokenness, confusion, hunger, and a deep spiritual need. And His response wasn’t frustration or indifference—it was compassion. From that compassion came a call: there is work to be done, and not enough people willing to do it.
The “harvest” Jesus speaks of represents people who are ready—whether they realize it or not—to hear truth, receive love, and encounter God. This is both encouraging and challenging. Encouraging, because it means hearts are being prepared by God even now. Challenging, because it means there is a responsibility placed on those who follow Him.
Notice something important: before Jesus tells His disciples to go, He tells them to pray. Why? Because this work isn’t just about effort—it’s about alignment with God’s heart. Prayer softens our hearts, opens our eyes, and prepares us to be the very answer we’re asking for.
Sometimes we think evangelism or sharing faith is only for pastors, missionaries, or “qualified” people. But Jesus didn’t limit this call. The need is too great. The harvest is too vast.
You don’t need a stage—you just need a willingness. A conversation, a kind word, a testimony, a simple act of love—these are seeds God can use to change someone’s eternity.
So the question becomes: are you just seeing people, or are you seeing the harvest?
~Closing Prayer~
Lord of the harvest, open my eyes to see people the way You see them. Give me a heart of compassion, not judgment. Stir in me a willingness to step out in faith and be used by You. Send laborers into Your harvest—and if it’s Your will, let me be one of them. Amen.
Remember, God loves you and so do I.
