Psalm 55:22 says,
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you.”

The word burden carries the idea of what has been given to you — your lot, your portion, the weight life has handed you.

God never promised we would carry nothing.
But He did promise we would never carry it alone.

The word sustain means to nourish, uphold, and keep alive.

Sometimes God removes the burden.
Sometimes He strengthens you beneath it.
Sometimes He carries you through what should have crushed you.

Jesus echoed this in Matthew 11:28:
“Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

David ends the Psalm not with revenge, bitterness, or self-defence, but with trust.

“But I will trust in You.”

Real faith is not pretending the burden is light.
It is believing God is strong enough to carry you through it.
