What a lazy feeling day. I slept well last night. Woke up feeling kind of refreshed, but this rainy day has me thinking a completely lazy day may be in the mix. Haha. As much of a temptation as that is, I know that it will not happen. I have enough to keep me busy inside, even without writing. I still need to fix my office…the train wreck has a train wreck on top of it. Haha.
Yesterday was a total blessing. I spent the day with my mommy. We had breakfast together. I showed her upgrades in her town in areas that are too far for her to drive on her own. We paid bills together. We got veggie (ice cream) shakes together. Then we went back to her place and played a healthy game of Scrabble. It was determined that this will once again become a staple in our relationship. It has been a very long time since she and I played.
Though the day seems dreary and wet. Though the birds are not singing as lively. Though it feels like a day of laziness. Take a moment and see the beauty of the day. You are alive. The temperature is too hot or too cool. The wind seems to be napping. You have several directions that you can walk today, and it's totally up to which way you go. You have clothes on your back and food in your belly. You are blessed.
There may be challenges that you do not want to encounter, but those challenges will assist in forming you into the soldier or follower that He has planned for you. Taking one step forward, then another, then another is making progress. Each of those steps forward is one step further away from the enemy and his attempts to cause you to detour. Each step is a step towards true peace. Each step, no matter how difficult, is so worth it. Stand tall today in this day of dreary distraction and move forward to the plan He has for you.
