Trusting God for the Impossible
So often we live within the limits of what feels safe, reasonable, and manageable. We make plans based on our own strength, our own resources, and our own understanding. Yet throughout Scripture, God rarely called people to tasks they could accomplish alone.
Noah built an ark before rain had ever fallen. Moses stood before Pharaoh with nothing but a staff and the promise of God. David faced Goliath with a sling and unwavering faith. The disciples were ordinary men entrusted with carrying the Gospel to the world. Again and again, God chose willing hearts over human capability.
Why? Because God’s power shines brightest where human strength ends.
When we only attempt what we know we can handle ourselves, we leave little room for God to move. Faith begins where certainty ends. Sometimes God calls us to forgive when it feels impossible, to step into ministry when we feel unqualified, to trust Him in hardship, or to share the Gospel despite fear. These moments stretch us beyond ourselves and teach us dependence on Him.
The impossible is not intimidating to God. It is His specialty.
Perhaps today God is asking you to trust Him beyond your comfort zone. Maybe He is calling you to pray bigger prayers, take a step of obedience, or surrender a burden you’ve tried to carry alone. Whatever it is, remember this: God does not seek perfect people with unlimited ability. He seeks surrendered people willing to let Him work through them.
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
Remember, God loves you and so do I.
~Closing Prayer~
Lord, forgive me for relying so heavily on my own strength. Help me to trust You beyond what I can see or accomplish on my own. Give me courage to follow where You lead, even when it seems impossible. Let my life be a testimony of Your power, not my own ability. In Jesus’ name, amen.
