THE ADVENT TRUTH
“The Bible would have made it clear if it was a demon.”

It actually DOES make it clear…just not in the way many assume.

In 1 Samuel 28, Saul goes to a witch after God refused to answer him. The chapter literally says God would not answer Saul by prophets, dreams, or Urim (1 Samuel 28:6). So why would God suddenly choose to communicate through a method He called an abomination?

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 condemns necromancy, familiar spirits, and consulting the dead. God forbade it because demonic spirits operate through it. If this really was Samuel, then God would be validating the very practice He condemned.

And notice carefully: Saul never actually saw Samuel. The WOMAN claimed to see him. Saul only went off her description. Scripture calls her a “mistress of familiar spirits.” That phrase matters.

The Bible also repeatedly teaches that the dead are unconscious:
“The dead know not any thing” (Ecclesiastes 9:5).
“In that very day his thoughts perish” (Psalm 146:4).

So if Samuel was dead, how was he casually having conversations at a séance?

Some say, “But the spirit predicted Saul’s death!”

Demons can tell truth mixed with deception. In the Gospels, demons correctly identified Jesus as the Son of God. In Acts 16, a demon-possessed girl spoke truthful things about Paul. Satan often uses partial truth to gain credibility.

And the clearest explanation comes later:

“So Saul died for his transgression… and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit” (1 Chronicles 10:13).

Notice it does NOT say:
“because Samuel came back from heaven.”

It specifically connects Saul’s sin to consulting familiar spirits.

The issue here is bigger than one story. Revelation warns that in the last days the world will be deceived by lying wonders and supernatural manifestations. Satan’s first lie in Eden was, “Ye shall not surely die.” Spiritualism is built on that same foundation.

The Bible is actually very consistent:
The dead sleep until the resurrection.
God forbids communication with the dead.
Demons impersonate and deceive.
And Satan can appear as an angel of light.
