A Mother's Love
Today is a day to honor mothers around the world and to let them know how much you love and appreciate them. Don’t forget to thank her for all she has done to help you be the loving, caring person you are today. There is nothing quite as strong as a mother’s love. It is a self-sacrificing kind of love that lasts until she takes her last breath. It doesn’t matter how old you get; you will never outgrow the need for your mother. She is the first person you ran to with a scraped-up knee, wanting that reassuring hug, saying everything would be okay. She was also the one who was there when you were sick, bullied at school, or needed help with homework. Her unselfish gift of her time to shape your character is a testament of her deep love. The Bible gives many examples of how a mother’s love compares to our heavenly Father’s love for us. Young mothers in today’s society face more challenges than ever before. They need our support - not judgment. Kids don’t come with an instruction manual, so if your mother was less than perfect, ask God to help you forgive her and thank her for bringing you into this world. If your mom is gone, thank God for who she was and for her sacrifices she made on your behalf. Today, reach out to moms everywhere and just say thank you - especially to your own precious mother whose heart needs to hear, “I love you Mom!” Text:: Proverbs 31:28–31, Proverbs 17:6, John 16:21, Isaiah 66:13
