Need to know.
This is more serious than most people realize. The Bible is not just a book you read when you feel like it—it’s the difference between truth and deception, life and destruction. If you neglect it, you don’t stay neutral—you slowly drift.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 KJV, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” That means the Word is not optional. Just like your body needs food every day, your soul needs truth every day.

A lot of people depend on what they hear from others—preachers, videos, posts—but that’s not enough. If you don’t open the Bible yourself, you won’t know if what you’re hearing is actually true. That’s why Hosea 4:6 KJV says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Not because they didn’t have access—but because they didn’t seek it.

Psalm 119:105 KJV says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Without it, you’re walking in the dark and you won’t even realize it. You might feel okay, but you’re not seeing clearly.

And in these last days, this matters even more. 2 Timothy 3:13 KJV says, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” That means deception increases over time. So if you’re not grounded in Scripture, you will be influenced by it.

Joshua 1:8 KJV also says to meditate on the Word day and night, not just read it casually. That’s how your thinking changes. That’s how you stay steady when everything around you is unstable.

So when it says read it like your life depends on it—that’s not exaggeration. Because spiritually, it does. The Word is what keeps you anchored, what corrects you, what protects you, and what leads you to life.

If you ignore it, you become vulnerable. But if you stay in it, consistently, seriously—you begin to see clearly, think differently, and stand firm no matter what comes.
