With the global energy crisis, fuel prices in my country( Mozambique) rose by about 45% this week; last Sunday, I was asked to deliver a message to the church!!
So many ideas came to me, such as!!
Don’t be afraid—this will pass!
Trust in God; He will sustain us. I realized that while this is true, we often don’t preach the whole truth to the people, and this creates a generation of believers who look at God with a certain distrust because He doesn’t do everything they expect, and they live with the hope that one day things will get better.
Paul’s words in Philippians 4:11 came to mind.
...“I have learned to be content with whatever I have...”
Paul isn’t saying to resign ourselves to our circumstances, but that in the face of the world’s impermanence, he learned an important secret: to be content with what he has... It’s a valuable lesson that can help us let go of the feeling that something is missing in our lives and the thirst to pursue things that seemingly bring us happiness.
