The Broken Saints Who Truly Know God.

Bible Text: Ezekiel 36:26, Psalm 34:18.

Not everyone who speaks about God truly knows Him. Many know religion, tradition, or outward appearance. But those who truly know God are often the broken saints — men and women whose hearts have passed through fire, pain, correction, repentance, and deep dealings with God.

A broken saint is not merely someone who has suffered. It is someone whose pride has been crushed, whose conscience is awake, and whose heart has become tender before God.

Such people no longer live carelessly. Sin troubles them. Conviction speaks loudly within them. They are sensitive to God’s voice because their hearts are no longer made of stone.

God Himself promised in Ezekiel 36:26 that He would remove the stony heart and give a heart of flesh. A heart of flesh feels, responds, trembles, and yields before God. It is soft enough to repent, humble enough to obey, and sensitive enough to discern.

Many times, brokenness is the hidden classroom where true knowledge of God is formed. Job knew about God before affliction, but after passing through pain, he said, “Now mine eye seeth thee” (Job 42:5). Brokenness opened his spiritual sight. It awakened deeper understanding.

An awakened conscience is also a mark of those who truly know God. Their hearts are alive to righteousness. They cannot comfortably continue in error. Even in secret, the fear of God restrains them. While others justify wrongdoing, the broken saint weeps over it.

The world may see brokenness as weakness, but in God’s kingdom, brokenness often becomes the doorway to intimacy with Him. The proud may impress people, but the broken attract God’s presence. Scripture says in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted.

True spirituality is not noise without transformation. It is a yielded life, a softened heart, and a conscience that still trembles at God’s Word.

Many people want power, influence, and greatness, but few desire the deep dealings that produce a heart that truly knows God. Yet it is in surrender, humility, repentance, and brokenness that genuine fellowship with God is born.

Those who truly know God are not merely the loudest voices in the crowd, but often the broken souls whose hearts have been softened by truth, purified by pain, and awakened by grace.
