1. THE CATHOLIC CATECHISM ADMITS THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH

The official Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

> “The seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD.”

It also connects the Sabbath with Creation:

> “The Lord blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.”

2. THE SAME CATECHISM DISTINGUISHES SUNDAY FROM THE SABBATH

The Catechism also says Sunday is “expressly distinguished from the sabbath” and that, in Catholic worship, Sunday observance replaces Sabbath observance.

3. THE CONVERT’S CATECHISM ADMITS SATURDAY IS THE SABBATH

Peter Geiermann’s The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine gives this direct admission:

> “Which is the Sabbath day?”
“Saturday is the Sabbath day.”

Then it explains Sunday observance by saying the Catholic Church “transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.”

4. CARDINAL GIBBONS IS WIDELY CITED: SUNDAY SANCTIFICATION IS NOT FOUND IN SCRIPTURE

Cardinal James Gibbons is widely cited as saying that one may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and find no line authorizing Sunday sanctification, while Scripture enforces the religious observance of Saturday.

5. THE CATHOLIC RECORD IS CITED AS CLAIMING CHURCH AUTHORITY OVER THE CHANGE

The Catholic Record, September 1, 1923, is cited as saying the church is above the Bible, and that the transfer of Sabbath observance from Saturday to Sunday is proof of that authority.

**THAT IS NOT A SMALL CLAIM.

THAT IS AN AUTHORITY CLAIM.**

6. C. F. THOMAS IS CITED AS CALLING THE CHANGE A MARK OF ECCLESIASTICAL AUTHORITY

A letter attributed to C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, says the Catholic Church claimed the Sabbath-to-Sunday change as her act, and that the act was a “mark” of ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.

This should be presented as an attributed statement, but the point remains serious:

But let truth be spoken with tears, not pride:

NO SINCERE SUNDAY KEEPER HAS THE FINAL MARK OF THE BEAST NOW.

The mark comes when light is clearly presented, Sunday observance is enforced by law, and people knowingly choose human authority above God’s command.

“When Sunday observance shall be enforced by law… whoever shall transgress the command of God… will thereby honor popery above God.”

Who has the right to command the conscience?

God or man?
Scripture or tradition?
The Creator’s Sabbath or ecclesiastical authority?

Do not preach the Sabbath with pride.
Preach it with tears.

Do not expose error while living carelessly.
Let the Sabbath sanctify your heart.

Do not defend the seventh day while breaking its spirit.
Let Christ make you holy.

Because the final test will not merely ask, “What day do you know?”
It will ask, “Whose authority rules your heart?”
