Nothing Between
There are many Christians who truly desire a closer walk with Jesus, but they can't seem to obtain the joy that loving our Lord and Savior brings. They leave our churches feeling empty, disillusioned, and lost, not knowing why they don't feel connected to God! Some try to work their way to heaven by spending hours in ministry, but never achieving that intimacy with Jesus that they are longing for. Others avoid all church duties and are content to be “pew warmers," not realizing that they are dying spiritually. Week after week goes by, year after year, and the distance grows as they go through the motions of living a Christian life. However, God longs to bring us into a oneness with Him! He wants to jump-start our lives so that we can enjoy the abundant life that He has planned. There is absolutely nothing worth hanging onto if it separates us from God! Cut it out like a cancer! Then ask God to create a clean heart and a right spirit within, and don't forget to increase prayer time, that special alone time with Jesus that brings the intimacy that we long for. We should search our hearts and get rid of anything that is separating us from Jesus - leaving nothing between our Lord and our Savior!
