Canada is vast; second only to Russia in size, but with a small population of 42 million
Specifically, we live in the city of Barrie in the Province of Ontario.
We overlook a bay of Lake Simcoe - a relatively small lake.
It's the 'very tiny' piece of freshwater lake in the bottom right corner, in this Space overview of the Province of Ontario.
Stretching from the shores of the Great Lakes to the edge of the Arctic tundra, Ontario’s vast wilderness, forests, and waterways make it one of the most geographically diverse regions on Earth. From orbit, thousands of lakes shimmer like scattered mirrors across the landscape, while massive freshwater systems carve through the province like veins across the continent.
Home to more than 250,000 lakes containing roughly one-fifth of the world’s fresh water, Ontario looks less like a province from space… and more like a living ocean woven into the land itself.
