No More Between

“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him...”
— 1 Kings 18:21 (KJV)

Thought Of The Day...
There are moments in life when God calls us to stop wavering and make a decision. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah stood on Mount Carmel before a nation that had become spiritually divided. Israel claimed to know God, yet they were also following Baal. Their hearts were split between worship and compromise.
Elijah asked a question that still echoes today:
“How long halt ye between two opinions?”
The word halt means to limp, stagger, or waver. Israel was spiritually limping because they were trying to stand in two worlds at the same time. And many believers today are doing the same thing.
Some people love God, but still hold on to habits that pull them away from Him. Others trust God on Sunday but live in fear and doubt throughout the week. Some want the blessings of God while refusing the surrender that comes with following Him fully.
But God never intended for His people to live divided lives.
A double-minded heart creates spiritual exhaustion. You cannot walk in peace while constantly battling between obedience and compromise. Eventually, the struggle drains your joy, weakens your faith, and leaves your spirit dry.
Yet even in Israel’s rebellion, God sent Elijah with a merciful warning. Before judgment came, God extended an invitation to return. That same mercy is reaching for us today.
God is not asking for partial commitment. He is asking for total surrender.
He wants your whole heart.
Your whole trust.
Your whole life.
When Elijah repaired the broken altar and called upon the Lord, fire fell from Heaven. The fire did not fall on compromise—it fell on surrender.
And that is still true today.
When we fully return to God:
• Fire replaces dryness
• Peace replaces confusion
• Strength replaces weakness
• Revival replaces emptiness
God is calling His people out of hesitation and into wholehearted devotion.
No more wavering.
No more divided loyalty.
No more standing between two opinions.
Choose Him completely.

Prayer...
Father, forgive me for every area where I have wavered between faith and compromise. Remove every idol, distraction, and divided desire from my heart. Help me to follow You fully and trust You completely. Restore my passion for Your presence and let Your fire burn brightly within me again. I choose You today, Lord, with my whole heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
