Rise in Grace — A Reflection

There comes a moment in every warrior’s life when the battle quiets, not because the world has grown softer, but because her spirit has grown stronger. She stands in the doorway between what was and what will be, armor dented, heart steady, breath lifted like a prayer.

She has fought.
She has endured.
She has risen.

But grace is not the reward for her strength—
grace is the strength that carried her here.

In the dim light of her own exhaustion, she expected judgment.
Instead, she found Jesus waiting in the doorway, light spilling around Him like morning breaking open. He did not ask for her perfection. He did not ask for her explanation. He simply extended His hand and placed it gently on her shoulder—the place where the weight had been heaviest.

And in that touch, she learned something holy:

Grace does not meet the polished.
Grace meets the weary.

She bowed her head, not in defeat, but in surrender—the kind that frees rather than binds. And when He spoke, His words didn’t command; they rested. They settled into the cracks of her armor, into the places she had hidden, into the wounds she thought she had to carry alone.

Then came the moment that changed everything—
the moment she lifted her eyes.

In His gaze, she didn’t see disappointment.
She saw recognition.
She saw love.
She saw the truth of who she was always becoming.

Her rise was never about climbing higher.
It was about coming closer.

Closer to His heart.
Closer to His voice.
Closer to the grace that had been pursuing her all along.

And as the light wrapped around them both, she understood:

She is not rising to grace.
She is rising in it.

Always held.
Always seen.
Always loved.
