BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH
”Or do you not know that all of us (saved) who have been baptized (by the Spirit) INTO Christ Jesus have been BAPTIZED (by the Spirit) into His DEATH? Therefore we have been buried with Him through BAPTISM (by the Spirit) into DEATH, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in the newness of life. For if we have become UNITED with Him in the likeness of His DEATH, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His RESURRECTION.”--Romans 6:3-5
One of the most common sources of CONFUSION in Christianity is FAILING to distinguish God’s WORK from man’s RESPONSE. When that line is blurred, assurance fades, GRACE is diminished, and the FINISHED WORK of Christ is obscured. Scripture clearly separates POSITION from PRACTICE, Spirit work from human OBEDIENCE, and SALVATION from its SYMBOLS.
To understand TRUTH rightly, we must let Scripture INTERPRET Scripture—and ALLOW God to DEFINE how a SINNER moves from DEATH to LIFE.
The Bible teaches that ALL people are spiritually DEAD because of SIN (Eph. 2:1; Rom. 3:23). No religious ACT can CHANGE this CONDITION.
Salvation occurs the MOMENT a person BELIEVES in Jesus Christ. By FAITH, God makes the believer His CHILD (Gal. 3:26), PLACES them INTO Christ by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13), and SEALS them FOREVER( Eph 1:13).
As a result, the believer is FORGIVEN, JUSTIFIED, made NEW, and possesses ETERNAL LIFE now (Rom. 5:1; 2 Cor. 5:17; Rom. 6:23).
Water baptism FOLLOWS salvation as an ACT of OBEDIENCE and TESTIMONY, but it does not SAVE or PLACE anyone INTO Christ (Acts 10:44–48; 1 Cor. 1:17).
SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH, not WORKS—so Christ alone RECEIVES the GLORY.
