FORMATION OF MAN:
1. The formation of the body: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground.”
2. The gift of the spirit: “And breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” By this is not meant the Holy Spirit, but the spirit of the natural man—that part of man that must be indwelt by the Holy Spirit before he can be born again. It is the God conscious nature of man.
3. The soulish part of man: “And man became a living soul.” This is the seat of the self-conscious nature, memory, the affections, etc
