THE APOSTLES MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE

JESUS--"the apostle and high priest of our confession." Hebrews 3:1

THE TWELVE--"The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, SIMON, who is called PETER, and ANDREW his brother; JAMES the son of Zebedee, and JOHN his brother; PHILLIP and BARTHOLAMEW; THOMAS and MATTHEW the tax collector; JAMES the son of Alphaeus, and THADDEUS; SIMON the Zealot, and JUDAS ISXCARIOT, who betrayed him." Matthew 10:2-4

MATTHIAS--"and he w as numbered with the eleven apostles." Acts 1:26

JOSEPH BARSABAS--"so they nominated two men: Joseph Barsabbas (also known as Justus)" Acts 1:25

JUDAS BARSABBAS--mentioned with other apostles "carried much weight in the church." Acts 15:22

PAUL--"an apostle" Galatians 1:1

BARNABAS--"But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it" Acts 14:14

ANDRONICAS and his wife JUNIA--"who bear the marks of an apostle" (Greek translation) Romans 16:7

JAMES, THE LORD'S BROTHER--I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord's brother." Galatians 1:19

SILVANUS (SILAS) AND TIMOTHY--"Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy" I Thessalonians 1:1 These are the "we" Paul mentions in 2:6 "although we could have made demands as the apostles of Christ."

EPAPHRODITUS--"I have thought it necessary to send (Greek 'apostello') to you Epaphroditus my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier and your 'apostello' [Greek for 'messenger'] and minister." Philippians 2:25

TYCHICUS--Paul sent Tychicus as an apostle (Greek for sent) to Ephesus I Timothy 4:12

APOLLOS--"I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, broiters. . .(9) "For I think God has exhibited us (Pul referring to himself and Apollos) apostles kast of all." I Corinthians 4:6, 9.

THE SEVENTY--"After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent (Greek 'apostello') them on ahead of him." The seventy were considered apostles by the early church. Luke 10:1

THE BELIEVERS IN ROME--"Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle. . .whom we {all} have received grace and apostleship. . . .including YOU who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. Romans 1:1, 5-6
