The Advent Truth.
Many people read Revelation 17 and think the “mother of harlots” refers only to one religious system. But Revelation says she has DAUGHTERS. That means other churches would eventually inherit the same spirit, the same false doctrines, and ultimately the same union with political power.
The issue isn’t merely denomination names. The issue is whether Scripture or tradition is the final authority.
Throughout history, Rome taught doctrines such as:
• Sunday sacredness
• The immortality of the soul
• Eternal conscious torment
• Tradition above Scripture
• Church and state union
And tragically, many Protestant churches that once protested Rome have slowly returned to these same principles.
Revelation 17 warns of a global religious-political union where “the kings of the earth” unite with apostate religion. Revelation 13 describes a system where worship is enforced by law. And Revelation 18 gives God’s final appeal:
“Come out of her, my people…” (Revelation 18:4)
This is not about attacking sincere Christians. God has faithful people in MANY churches. The issue is the SYSTEMS and teachings that place human tradition above the Word of God.
The Protestant Reformation was never supposed to stop. Men like Martin Luther, William Tyndale, John Huss, and John Knox risked their lives to restore biblical truth. But prophecy warned that many churches would eventually drift back toward the very system the Reformers resisted.
The final issue in Bible prophecy is worship and authority:
Will we follow the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus… or the traditions of men?
Revelation 14:12
“Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
The call of Revelation is not merely to leave a building. It is a call to leave confusion, compromise, and man-made religion—and stand fully on the Word of God alone.
