Check Your Focus
People everywhere are stressed, overworked, overloaded, and trying to get more accomplished than our ancestors could ever have believed possible. In fact, multi-tasking has grown to a whole new level, leaving many confused as to what their priorities are and what to do first. When you lose your focus of what’s most important, you tend to just flit from one job to the next without really finishing anything. Not only is it impossible to do your best work, but you’ll soon wear yourself out both physically and emotionally. The only way to avoid this rat race is to allow God to rule your calendar. Allow Him to take control, set your priorities, and prayerfully follow God’s plan for your life. When you are getting your marching orders from our Lord and Savior, following the path He leads and obeying His commands, you’ll no longer have stress-filled days or walk around in a stupor, not knowing what to do next. If you desire a close relationship with God, then pray and ask Him to come into your heart and life. And don’t forget to pray for wisdom, strength, and courage to follow Him. Pray David’s prayer found in Psalm 25:4: “Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.” When Jesus was here on earth, He never once lost His focus. He knew the job He was sent to do and did not get distracted. It’s time to check your focus and make sure you are giving your time, talents, and energy to what God wants for your life - and not on what others want you to do. Your heavenly goal is far more important than anything this world has to offer. Text: Jeremiah 6:16, Psalm 17:6, Isaiah 26:7, Proverbs 3:6
