Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Adaptability.

I like to watch cooking shows. I still cannot cook worth a hoot, but I like to watch competitors show their stuff. In all the cooking shows, they must adapt to either the ingredients, the equipment, the style, or whatever twist the host throws at them. There is a show called 24 in 24. Essentially, it is 24 challenges in 24 hours. Yesterday, the theme was adaptability. The first challenge was that the three chosen competitors had to make a chef-themed cocktail with six ingredients. After they picked their stuff from the pantry … the host giggled and said, “No cocktail. With what you chose, you must now make a one-bite wonder. But you can go get one more item from the pantry.” To tell you the truth, I was impressed. Then, when the other chefs came back into the arena, they had to make a noodle dish. However, they had no knives or sharp objects to use as knives … of any kind. Adaptability.

<I love it when I have to delete and rewrite because I went the wrong direction.>

When I retired, my body was on a clock that consistently got up before the sun. The first day that I slept in, and the sun beat me up was very unsettling for me. It was as though I was late for something and it felt weird. As time went on, I found myself staying up later and sleeping later. No rhyme or reason, just the way my brain went. Those days that we actually had appointments or engagements were somewhat difficult because in a very short time, I had acclimated to the different hours. We, my husband and I, now have a time each morning that we meet together and pray. I must now adjust my sleep pattern once again.

I believe that God put me on the previous sleep schedule so that I could catch up on all the sleep my body was missing. To keep me from falling into a trap of slothfulness, He orchestrated the prayer time for us. In just two months, we have adapted to two different schedules because we listened to the Father and ignored the enemy’s ideas. Just as I write every day, we pray every day and the enemy is not happy with us. Remember, he hid my bible from me. Yesterday he poured down rain just as we were exiting the vehicle … twice. Anything he can do to slow us down and make us feel like we cannot accomplish the mission, he will do. Anything to make our job more difficult, he will throw at us. The key is to look for the Light and adapt accordingly. I found my bible. I got wet. The mission was accomplished. The enemy is mad at me. Hence, I went on a squirrel trail this morning … had to delete and rewrite. Adaptation can be annoying, but when you follow the Father, it is so worth it.

Be blessed.

***May my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word. May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise. –Psalm 119:169-170
