“I desire then that in every place the men (mankind) should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or disputing.”
1 Timothy 2:8

Lifting holy hands is more than an outward act of worship.

Open, empty hands speak of surrender.
They say, “Lord, I carry no weapons. I release control. I lay down my burdens, my pride, my anger, and my need to be right.”

They are the hands of a child reaching up to a Father.

But the emphasis is not only on lifted hands.
It is on holy hands.

Hands lifted while the heart holds bitterness, anger, pride, or conflict are not the picture God is calling us to.

Holy hands come from a surrendered heart.

This is not about being seen by people.
It is about reaching for God with a heart that truly longs to touch heaven.

Before we lift our hands, may we first lay down everything that does not belong in His presence.
