God Preserves His People

Scripture

Numbers 26:64 (NKJV)
But among these there was not a man of those who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they numbered the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Sinai.

A New Generation Ready to Enter

In this verse, Scripture records that none of the men counted in the first census (from the beginning of Israel’s journey) remained—except Joshua and Caleb. An entire generation had died in the wilderness because of unbelief and rebellion. Yet God preserved a new generation to inherit the promises He had made. Even when people failed, God’s plan did not. He patiently raised up a people who would trust Him and move forward into the land He had prepared.

For believers today, this verse is a reminder that God is faithful even when generations fall short. His purposes continue. He raises new leaders, new families, and new believers to carry out His promises. Your past does not limit God’s future for you. Even when others around you let go of faith, you can choose to be like Joshua and Caleb—standing firmly on God’s Word and stepping boldly into His promises.

This verse teaches us that God preserves the faithful and prepares His people for what He has promised.

Reflection Questions

1. Am I living as part of the faithful generation that trusts God completely?

2. What unbelief or fear do I need to let go of to step into God’s promises?

3. How can I prepare myself spiritually to inherit what God has planned for my life?

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for Your faithfulness from generation to generation. Help me to walk like Joshua and Caleb—with faith, courage, and obedience. Remove unbelief from my heart and prepare me to step into the promises You have spoken over my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
