Let's talk about it.
In Matthew 25, Jesus describes the final separation of the saved and the lost. To the sheep He says:
“Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
Matthew 25:34, NKJV
Why? Because their faith was revealed in the life. They fed the hungry, clothed the naked, welcomed the stranger, and cared for those who were suffering.
Their works did not earn salvation — but they revealed a living faith.
To the goats He says:
“Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Matthew 25:41, NKJV
Why? Because their profession was empty. They claimed to know Christ, but the love of Christ was not dwelling in the heart — and therefore the works of love were absent from the life.
This is the faith that saves:
“faith working through love.”
Galatians 5:6, NKJV
And this is why James says:
“Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
James 2:17, NKJV
True faith is not a lifeless profession. It works by love, purifies the soul, and is revealed in a life of obedience and mercy.
The sheep had faith working through love.
The goats had profession without true love — and therefore without works.
Dead faith does not save.
