THE TRAGEDY OF THE HIJACKED VOICE: WHO IS GIVING YOU UTTERANCE TODAY?

​THE FIRST FRUIT OF THE FIRE
​Saints of the Most High, the Spirit of the Lord is bringing us to the very climax of the Upper Room reality. We have talked about the Wind, the Fire, and the Governance of the Spirit sitting upon the Church. But today, we must look at the evidence of the occupation.
​When the Holy Ghost finally took His seat on the heads of the 120, what was their very first recorded action? They did not immediately build a mega-church. They did not form a committee.
​Acts 2:4 says: “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
​The very first faculty the Holy Ghost hijacked was their tongue. The very first fruit of the Fire was surrendered speech. But I come to you with a soul-piercing, terrifying question for our generation: When you open your mouth today—in the pulpit, in your home, on your social media—WHO is giving you utterance? WHO are you speaking for?
​THE EXPOSITION: THE MYSTERY OF THE GHOSTWRITER
​1. The Surrender of the Source (Acts 2:4)
​Notice the precision of the Scripture. They spoke, but they did not invent the words. The Holy Ghost was the architect of their vocabulary; they were merely the amplifiers. The Greek word for utterance here is apophthengomai, which means to speak forth weighty, profound, prophetic, and authoritative declarations!
​Prophetic Truth: You cannot carry the genuine Holy Ghost and still retain the rights to your own vocabulary. When the Spirit fills you, He confiscates your right to speak your own mind!
​2. The Tragedy of the Carnal Utterance (James 3:6)
​“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity... and it is set on fire of hell.”
Look at the Body of Christ today! We claim to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, but our tongues are set on fire by the culture, by our political affiliations, by our unhealed trauma, and by our offenses!
​When you type a bitter, sarcastic comment to tear down a brother—who gave you that utterance?
​When a preacher stands in the pulpit and delivers a motivational speech designed to stroke egos rather than slay the flesh—who gave him that utterance?
​When you gossip about the vulnerabilities of the Anointed—whose script are you reading?
​If the Holy Spirit is not the author of your speech, you have become a mouthpiece for Babylon!
​3. The Oracles of God (1 Peter 4:11)
​“If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God...”
An oracle does not share opinions; an oracle delivers verdicts from the Throne Room. This is why we are experiencing such a devastating scarcity of the sickle in the harvest field. You cannot swing the sickle of evangelism and deliverance with a polluted mouth! Demons do not respect eloquence; they only submit to divine utterance!
​THE SOUL-PIERCING REALITY: WORKERS VS. LABOURERS
​We are drowning in a sea of religious noise, but there is a famine of the Word of the Lord. We have "prophets" giving utterance out of their own imagination. We have "teachers" giving utterance from the trending topics of social media.
​Hear the cry of the Spirit today: Labourers, not workers, are needed!
A "worker" speaks to protect his paycheck, to entertain the crowd, and to maintain his popularity. But a "labourer" goes into the Crucible of the Secret Place, takes a burning coal from the altar like Isaiah (Isaiah 6:6-7), and sears his lips! A true labourer would rather stay silent for a decade than speak one word that was not birthed in the womb of the Holy Ghost!
​ YOUR APOSTOLIC MANDATE (CALL TO ACTION)
​The Holy Ghost is demanding the password to your vocal cords today. We must return to the protocol of the Upper Room!
​AUDIT YOUR UTTERANCE: Scroll through your timeline. Think about the conversations you had yesterday. Were your words authorized by Heaven, or did they originate from the flesh?
​REPENT OF UNAUTHORIZED SPEECH: Ask the Lord to forgive you for every time you used the mouth He purchased with His blood to speak the language of hell (gossip, slander, fear, and unbelief).
​PRAY FOR THE COAL OF FIRE: Before you speak, preach, or type today, pray the prayer of the Apostolic Labourer: "Lord, let me not speak until the Spirit gives the utterance! Burn away my opinions!"
​DECLARE THE ORACLES: When you do open your mouth, speak with the violent authority of the Kingdom! Preach the Gospel. Heal the sick. Cast out devils. Use your utterance for the Harvest!
​ PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
I decree the circumcision of your lips today! I command every strange fire and carnal utterance to be extinguished from your mouth! May the Lord of the Harvest place His heavy, prophetic word upon your tongue! You will no longer be an echo chamber for the world; you shall become an Oracle of the Most High God! As you open your mouth, let the Spirit give the utterance that breaks yokes and saves cities! In the Terrifying and Matchless Name of Jesus!
