Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Have you ever been accused of something, or have you mistakenly accused someone of being the culprit? Today, we are starting with such a situation.

Around 330 this morning, I could hear the dog walking around the room near my side of the bed. If I ignore her, she will go lie back down. She did. However, right after I heard move her blanket and get situated, the worst smell of all time hit my nostrils. In my head, I was like, ‘dog farts’ are the worst. No matter how I moved or placed pillows near my nose, nothing got me away from that war zone odor. I found a place and was able to go back to sleep(ish). However, I must have rolled over one time too many, and my stomach told me I had better hurry. I did. When I began the eviction of dinner, I recognized that smell. I WAS THE WARZONE ODOR. I believe my dog was awakened by the bazooka sound or by the silent, deadly attack I was creating from my bed, and came to check on me. She could not escape the gas chamber because we keep the door closed. I am pretty sure that she knew that I would blame her, too.

I will give you a minute to clean up the spewed morning beverage and catch your breath.

How many times have you been accused or it's been implied that you are to blame for a situation? That has happened so many times in my life that I lost track. Many of those times, I would become extremely defensive and demand documentation to prove it was me. Many of those times, the documentation would show that I had made an error and did not catch it in time. I thought I had completed the task correctly, filed it for the CYB effect, only to be proven to be at fault. Some of those times, I would instantly wonder why one of my employees had not done their job, get frustrated, and only to find out that it was something I had done.

So what do you do when you find out you have made a fool of yourself? Do you bury it and hope no one knows? Do you apologize to those you blew up on? What do you do? I can tell you what I did, I believe all the time … but I am old and may have forgotten a few times … I first apologize and own what I did and accept the consequences. Then, if I had accused anyone of the misgiving, I apologized to them. For me, owning my mistake is easier than telling someone that I am sorry for blaming them. Afterwards, I pray and ask God to forgive me for my shortcomings.

We all make mistakes. We all accuse at some point, whether intentionally or backhandedly. None of us is perfect.

When we got up this morning for the day, the dog gave me a kiss on the ankle to let me know that she was glad I did not die in the fatal gas bomb that exploded in our room and that she loved me. People probably won't kiss you on your ankle as you pass by, but most will accept an earnest apology, forgive you, and move on. Absolutely, God will. Go to Him, and release your transgressions to him.

Be blessed.

** “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with[a] water, but you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.’ So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.” – Acts 11:15-18
