How to Walk in Constant Expectation
To live in constant expectation, you must live by faith. Those who live by faith are always expecting something good to happen. This means looking not at circumstances, but at the promises you expect to receive by faith.
If you do nothing and do not obey, you have no right to expect anything. For example, you cannot expect to be financially blessed if you don't tithe and give offerings. Once you do something and are obedient, then you can start expecting results. Just like you can’t expect oranges if you never took the time to plant a tree.
When you do what the Bible says, you have the right to expect:
“Or is it entirely for our sake? For our sake it was written, because the plowman should plow in hope, and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing the crop.” — 1 Corinthians 9:10
Religion tells you not to expect anything because you do it for God, but the Bible speaks of living with expectation. Each time you give or sow to God, say: “Jesus, I expect my harvest.” You must have a living hope and expect to receive a multiplied harvest. Whatever you sow, expect to receive it multiplied.
The devil will tell you you’re wasting your time, but keep sowing, because you have a living hope. For a great harvest, you must sow a great seed. If you haven't done what God says in His Word, don’t expect anything. The right to expectation comes from doing what the Bible says. Have you done what God put in your heart and what He says in His Word? If so, you have the right to live with great expectation.
