Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
What a beautiful weekend He has provided. The temperature starts a bit cooler, but by evening, all I want to do is enjoy the reflection of the day. Yesterday morning we had breakfast with friends, then when we go home, I got a lesson on tractor operation and mowed the area behind my shed. Afterwards, I began my journey to finish this competition piece. I have written at least four variations of this prompt, but I believe the one that I submitted last night was the right one. I am now looking at another one, this is just a free exercise … but it is way out of my comfort zone, and those are the ones that really help me grow. The genre, as it were, for this one is Suburban Medieval, using anachronism, which is basically using medieval problems and prompt in modern-day life or modern-day problems in medieval times.
For example, Merlin with a cell phone or a troll in charge of the HOA. My mind is going Bewitched … so … Let’s see what my brain comes up with.
How do you respond to stepping out of your comfort zone? In retirement, currently, my comfort zone is whatever. However, now that I am out of the customer service arena, sometimes I find it difficult to engage with others for no reason. Sometimes that reason to engage pulls me out of my personal circle, at that point I battle inside if ‘I want to’ or not. God tasked me for it … God asked me to engage … Who am I to say no thanks? I have though. Not proud of those moments, but I have. I have chosen my personal comfort over the direction of the Holy Spirit.
Every day, He gives us opportunities to shine, to be His Light, to expose someone to His Love. It may be as simple as greeting a homeless person. It may be as complex as volunteering to help someone create a function. It could be in the middle of simplicity and complexity, but still difficult for you … I want you to pray for this person … and keep your prayers/opinion private. No grandstanding. (A simple request with a complex idea with the way the world looks at works.)
Today, as we go to His house and give him praise, seek his face in those elements to expose the areas in which He has called you, and you have stumbled. Ask for His forgiveness and His guidance to move forward. Seek him earnestly with all your heart, and you will find the answers that have always been there.
Be blessed.
