Let's Talk About It.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.

“Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”

Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭

Jesus spoke to the non-believing, oppositional Pharisees, who were oblivious to the fact that the “kingdom of God” they were seeking was standing right in the midst of them.

•Biblical scholars interpret Jesus' words to mean that God’s reign is currently available. God’s sovereignty, royal authority, and power are on the scene.

The narrow-minded thinking of the Pharisees would not allow them to comprehend that the Messiah they expected would not be someone highly esteemed by men whom they worship.

Matthew also recorded Jesus chastising these same religious leaders for their nonbelief: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites…clean outside but inside full of greed, self-indulgence, uncleanliness and blind ignorance. ‭‭Matt ‭23‬:25

The scripture informs us that God’s reign is much more expansive and powerful than the human mind can fathom: “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” ‭‭1 Cor ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭

Jesus taught his followers to think broadly of God’s capabilities when He encouraged them to pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” ‭‭Matt ‭6‬:‭9‬ ‭

•Jesus demonstrated the intimacy available to us with God while recognizing His holiness and expansive authority.

•Scriptures reveal God as creator of everything, all-powerful, all-knowing, outside of time, and capable of allowing or preventing anything He chooses. He is omnipresent. Genesis 1:1, John 1:1, Psalm 99:2, Psalm 147:5, Exodus 3:14,

Mark recorded Jesus preaching: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

•Jesus encourages nonbelievers to: “Turn your life around and put your trust in the good news. Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ ‭

Jesus proclaimed that the kingdom of God calls believers to “strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness” Matthew 6:33

•The kingdom of God currently rules the hearts and minds of Believers in Christ who willingly live under His reign.

•“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭
