Let's talk about it.
A lot of people hear the title “archangel” and assume Michael must be a created angel. But that is not what the word means.

Angel means messenger, and in Malachi 3:1 Christ is called “the messenger of the covenant.” That word messenger is the same Hebrew word translated as angel. So the issue is not whether Jesus is a created angel. He is not. The issue is whether He appears as the divine Messenger and Commander of heaven’s host.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 also points in the same direction: “the Lord himself shall descend from heaven… with the voice of the archangel.” The voice that raises the dead is not the voice of a created angel, but the voice of the Lord Himself.

It also fits the connection between Zechariah 3:2 and Jude 9. In Zechariah, the Lord says to Satan, “The LORD rebuke thee.” In Jude, Michael says, “The Lord rebuke thee.” Same enemy. Same rebuke. Same authority.

And to be clear, this does not make Jesus a created being. Scripture plainly says, “the Word was God” (John 1:1), and the Father says to the Son, “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever” (Hebrews 1:8).

So Michael is not “just an angel.”
Michael is Christ in His role as Commander of the angels.

Jesus is God.
Jesus was not created.
Archangel = Commander of the angels.
