The Word of God: God Revealed.
Through His Word
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals God Himself. It is more than a book of stories, history, or teachings. The Bible is God’s inspired Word through which He makes Himself known to mankind.
The Bible shows that God and His Word cannot be separated. In the Gospel of John, the Scripture says:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
— John 1:1 (NKJV)
This means the Word is eternal and divine. John later explains who that Word is:
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” — John 1:14 (NKJV)
Jesus Christ is the living Word of God revealed to the world.
Even in creation, God worked through His Word:
“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.”
— Genesis 1:3 (NKJV)
Everything was created by the power of His spoken Word. Hebrews also tells us that God still sustains all things by His Word:
“…upholding all things by the word of His power…”
— Hebrews 1:3 (NKJV)
The Word of God is alive and powerful. It changes lives, reveals truth, and speaks to the human heart.
“For the word of God is living and powerful…”
— Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
This is why speaking God’s Word is so important. When believers speak the truth of Scripture, they are declaring God’s heart, His will, and His truth to people.
The Bible is not just ordinary writing. It is inspired by God Himself:
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God…”
— 2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)
From beginning to end, the Bible points to God and reveals His plan for humanity through Jesus Christ. God expresses Himself through His Word, and through His Word, people come to know Him.
