Dear Father,

In Nigeria, forty six children were kidnapped, and even more terrifying is that they showed no mercy to the children between the ages of two and seven. They are beaten and treated like criminals--innocent young minds who can barely distinguish evil from good.

I wonder if they are old enough for questions to linger in their minds, or if, according to their nature, they forgive the kidnappers each time they are mistreated. I also wonder how long this traumatic experience will linger after they are finally free. After praying, I dreamt that the nation needs to come together as one, build unwavering strategies, and fight for the change we desire to see.

When men built a tower to reach heaven, You Yourself affirmed: “Behold, the people is one, and nothing will be restrained from them...” For a long while, our desire for change has remained trapped in webs of intention and conversations, and we experience no change because we employ similar strategies--none that fully honor the power of speaking with one voice.

When all businesses shut down operations and we deny ourselves comfort, stepping right into the streets--both rich, poor, small and great, with no taxes paid and no future election honored until we see change...I believe the united voice of the people is capable of overcoming the terror that has gripped the nation.
