Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Another beautiful day yesterday. The morning was perfect for mowing to keep my agreement with my friend. An afternoon at the park with my littles. A simple dinner with no leftovers. A delightful chat in my front yard with friends. God was definitely present yesterday.
Today is panning out to start just as blessed. A solid night’s sleep. Hot and refreshing coffee. A manageable honey-do list. A refreshed spirit.
Yesterday I promised my littles a trip to the town park. It is roughly a half mile from my house. A couple of days ago, I told my husband that I was not losing weight fast enough to feel successful, so I needed to start walking again. The shot itself provided some weight loss, but it was time for me to help myself and use my muscles. So, yesterday, me and the kids walked to the park, then over to the DG, and back home. Just over a mile. Not a sprint or brisk pace, just a stroll to be moving. When we got home, my feet hurt a little, but not too terribly. However, this morning, my legs are reminding me why I got lazy in the first place … haha.
As I get myself motivated for the day’s activities, I am thankful on so many levels. One of which is my health, the ability to improve upon it, and the spirit to beat what the enemy is trying to keep me from. I have seen the good weights and felt the good health; I know that it is possible … I just have to be willing to walk the steps that the Holy Spirit has been impressing on me.
Many times when we hit that plateau of I can’t do this on my own and we cry out, we expect God to just take it all away and kiss our boo boo. That rarely happens. What happens in its place is so much better. The opportunity to grow. The prospect of playing the Rocky song as we jump up and down in Victory. The testimony we have as we walk tall and show the world that it cannot beat me. To stand in confidence, knowing what we have overcome. This time around with the weight loss, I am battling the KitKat demons. They haunt me. You laugh, but if I continue to submit to my desire to eat them, the weight will not shed as quickly as I would like … or ever. I have to be willing to turn away from my fleshly desires and walk the path that He has laid out for me. I have to be willing to pick up my cross and lay it down at his feet. I have to be willing to tell the enemy, “Not today, Satan. You don’t win.” And turn away from what I want … and to turn to what I need … The Father.
I encourage you today to seek his company and see which path he is directing you, and if you are truly walking in Faith. Take a few moments today and sit with Him. Listen and feel his loving breath on your soul. If you are struggling, take that first difficult step that you know you need to take, but have consistently hesitated to do. Each step gets easier as you exercise the muscles that you are not used to using. I promise … He is there … and it is so worth the step.
Be blessed.
