A Nugget of Truth.
TALKING TO THE DEAD IS IT A COMFORTING THOUGHT, OR A SATANIC DECEPTION?
It feels comforting.
It sounds tender.
It even feels spiritual.
But the question is not,
Does it comfort me?
The question is,
Is it true?
The Bible says:
“The dead know not any thing.”
— Ecclesiastes 9:5
That is heaven’s answer.
The dead do not whisper.
The dead do not guide.
The dead do not send messages back.
Our hope is not in talking to the dead.
Our hope is in the resurrection of the dead.
Saul sought light through the witch of Endor—
and found darkness, rebellion, and ruin.
When men will not hear God,
Satan is ready to answer.
Inspiration says the dead do not hold communion with the living.
Inspiration says Satan can appear under the guise of departed loved ones.
Inspiration says this deception prepares the way for spiritualism.
So what feels sweet
may be deadly.
What feels like comfort
may be a trap.
What sounds like mother, father, spouse, or child
may be another spirit entirely.
Feeling is not safety.
Experience is not safety.
Only the Word of God is safety.
Do not trust dreams because they feel warm.
Do not trust voices because they sound familiar.
Do not trust signs because they make you cry.
If it contradicts Scripture, it is not from heaven.
Beloved, do not let grief make a lie feel holy.
Do not seek the dead when the living Christ is still speaking.
Do not reach into darkness for comfort.
Wait for the resurrection.
Wait for the trumpet.
Wait for Jesus.
The dead do not speak to us—so cling to Christ, stand on the Word, and do not let grief open the door to deception.
