Need to know.
WISE OR FOOLISH: WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
ALL WERE IN THE CHURCH—BUT NOT ALL WERE READY
This is one of the most terrifying truths in the parable:
The foolish virgins were not outside the church.
They were not openly against the Bridegroom.
They were not mocking the wedding.
They were not strangers to the truth.
They were waiting too.
They had lamps too.
They had profession too.
They looked like believers too.
But heaven saw what human eyes could not see:
They had lamps in the hand—
but no oil in the soul.
And that is the searching warning for us today.
A Bible in the hand is not readiness
if the Word is not obeyed in the life.
A church name is not safety
if the heart is not surrendered to Christ.
Religious activity is not preparation
if the Holy Spirit is not filling the soul.
A lamp can shine for a moment on borrowed appearance,
but when the midnight cry comes, only oil can keep the fire burning.
The foolish waited for crisis to seek oil.
The wise carried oil before the crisis came.
That is the difference between appearance and preparation.
That is the difference between religion and conversion.
That is the difference between being near the truth and being transformed by the truth.
Beloved, do not wait for the door to close before seeking the Spirit.
Do not wait for the final shaking before becoming serious with God.
Do not wait until the test comes to discover that your lamp was empty.
Ask daily for the oil.
Oil in your words—so your speech carries grace, not poison.
Oil in your choices—so obedience becomes stronger than convenience.
Oil in your thoughts—so secret sin does not rule the hidden life.
Oil in your home—so Christ is seen behind closed doors.
Oil in your work—so integrity stands when no one is watching.
Oil in your trials—so pressure produces faith, not rebellion.
Oil in your secret life—because that is where true readiness is formed.
The Holy Spirit is not spiritual decoration.
He is heaven’s preparation.
The Spirit does not merely make us emotional—
He makes us holy.
He does not merely help us look religious—
He teaches us to live surrendered.
He does not merely light the lamp—
He keeps the soul burning when darkness deepens.
So examine your lamp.
Examine your heart.
Examine your daily walk.
Are you only present in church—
or prepared for Christ?
Are you carrying religion—
or filled with the Spirit?
Are you waiting with the wise—
or sleeping with an empty lamp?
Stay in the Word.
Stay prayerful.
Stay surrendered.
Stay watchful.
Stay filled.
Because when the Bridegroom comes, the question will not be:
“Were you inside the church?”
It will be:
DID YOU HAVE OIL IN YOUR SOUL?
