“𝘍𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭;
𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘺 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭.”
We live in a generation that talks endlessly but tells nothing of eternity. We repost opinions, share stories, and speak about everything—yet often stay silent about Christ. Fear of rejection, awkwardness, criticism, or inconvenience keeps many believers spiritually motionless. The question is not whether the world needs the Gospel—but whether we are willing to be sent rather than remain silent.
In 🕮 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟖:𝟏𝟗, the risen Christ issues a decree to every believer: “𝘎𝘰 𝘺𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘣𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘎𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵.” This Great Commission is an authoritative, corporate mandate. We were never designed to remain hidden within our church walls.
The Great Commission is like carrying light into a darkened city. Light does not argue with darkness—it simply shines. In the same way, the Gospel enters broken places, hopeless hearts, and blinded lives with the truth of Christ. The world does not need polished performances. It needs faithful witnesses willing to go.
The Scriptures repeatedly call God’s people to proclaim Him boldly: “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳?” (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟎:𝟏𝟒). “𝘠𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦” (𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝟏:𝟖). “𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥” (𝟐 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟒:𝟐). “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟏𝟑:𝟑𝟖). The opposition is real, but the mission is clear. We are not called merely to admire the mission—we are called to participate in it because we are Christ’s spokesperson.
Too often, we remain silent while claiming we are sent. Do not live like a believer who has been given water in a desert yet refuses to share the cup. “𝘠𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟓:𝟏𝟒). Light does not apologize for shining. Salt does not ask permission to savor. “𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘶𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥𝘴; 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟒:𝟑𝟓). You are sent, not silent.
Our ultimate pattern is the Lord Jesus Christ, “𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵” (𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝟏𝟗:𝟏𝟎). He did not remain silent in heaven; He descended to Calvary, bearing our condemnation. Through His finished work, salvation is now proclaimed to all nations. The risen Christ who commands us to go also promises, “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟖:𝟐𝟎).
Who in your life has never heard the Gospel because you have remained silent? A neighbor? A coworker? A family member? You do not need Christ merely to save you—you need Him to send you. Share the gospel of Christ. The world is waiting. You are sent, not silent. Go without fear, because Christ goes with you.
𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, forgive us for remaining silent when You have called us to go. Break our fear and fill our hearts with courage, compassion, and urgency for souls. Help us share the Gospel faithfully and trust Christ to work through our obedience. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!
