Hello, I would like to share with you the message from 29 mai 2026 from “The Good Seed” daily calendar.

But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:23-24)

The message of the cross
Above the door of a church stood the Bible verse: “We preach Christ crucified”. Over time, ivy grew up the facade and initially obscured the last two words. It then read: “We preach Christ”. After some time, only “We preach” could be read. Finally, the inscription was no longer visible. Today, the building is an overgrown ruin.
This building illustrates a development in the proclamation of the gospel. When the cross is omitted, where Christ died for sinners, the call to repentance also often disappears. Jesus is only spoken of as a good person who lived as an example. There is a growing focus on a social gospel aimed at improving the life situations of the underprivileged. Eventually, even the name “Christ” disappears, and only God, humanity, and nature are spoken of. However, without the cross, where the Lord Jesus Christ died for guilty people, there is neither salvation from judgment nor eternal life. He had to die so that, through personal faith in Him, we could be saved for heaven.
The crucified and risen Saviour is the only way to God.

“The word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.”

(1 Corinthians 1:18)

Today’s reading: Lamentations 1:1-11 – Psalms 42:1-6
