Forgiven Much
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” — Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)
There are many people carrying hidden chains today. Some are crushed by guilt over past sins. Others are wounded by what someone else has done to them. Many try to bury the pain, cover the shame, or outrun the memories, yet nothing in this world can truly wash away sin except the blood of Jesus Christ.
Forgiveness is not pretending sin never happened. Forgiveness is costly. The cross proves that. Every lie, every lustful thought, every act of hatred, pride, rebellion, bitterness, and unbelief was placed upon the spotless Son of God. Jesus willingly stretched out His hands and bore the wrath we deserved so that sinners could be forgiven.
When Jesus cried, “It is finished!” the debt of sin was paid in full.
The greatest need of every soul is not money, success, or even happiness — it is forgiveness from God. Without Christ, sin separates mankind from a holy God and leads to eternal judgment.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
Yet God, rich in mercy, made a way where there was no way. Jesus died for sinners, was buried, and rose again the third day in victory over sin, death, and hell. He now calls every person everywhere to repent and believe the Gospel.
No sin is too dark for Christ to forgive. The adulterer can be forgiven. The liar can be forgiven. The addict can be forgiven. The proud religious person can be forgiven. The bitter and angry heart can be forgiven. The thief on the cross beside Jesus had wasted his life in sin, yet in his final moments he turned to Christ in faith and heard these glorious words:
“Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” — Luke 23:43 (NKJV)
But forgiveness must be received. A person cannot earn salvation through good works, church attendance, morality, or religion. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
And those who have truly been forgiven are called to forgive others. Bitterness is a prison. Unforgiveness poisons the soul. When we remember how much Christ has forgiven us, it softens our hearts toward those who have wronged us.
Perhaps today you feel unworthy. Maybe you think you have gone too far. Hear this clearly: Jesus still saves. His blood still cleanses. His mercy still reaches broken sinners. Come to Him while there is time.
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13 (NKJV)
Prayer of Salvation
“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. Please forgive me, cleanse me, and change me. I turn from my sin and place my trust completely in You alone for salvation. Be my Lord and Savior. Fill my heart with Your Spirit and help me follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for Your mercy, forgiveness, and eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
