Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Yesterday was a workday in the yard. In total, I probably only spent about two hours outside, but those two hours were tough on my lazy bones. We have a vine-type grass that likes to work its way up and under my siding, so yesterday was to pull it up and out of the siding. It pulled easily enough; there was just quite a bit of it. It looks better now and … and I am not worried about my siding deciding to have a mind of its own. Haha.

Two of my biggest character flaws are my temper and my mouth. I have been able to control my temper outbursts better; however, my inside voice is loudly pronounced all over my face in subtitles when I am frustrated. That may never change … haha. My mouth is the second problem I have. Many years ago, I was able to zero out my cussing and the harshest word I would say was “shi?” Unfortunately, that is not the case now. It is not something that I am proud of by any means.

These two character flaws tend to run hand in hand. My mouth gets away from me when I am frustrated or when I am extremely angry. It is almost as though my brain tells my mouth it is okay and not to worry about it and lets the ugly levels flow. I have found or have caught myself more times stopping my sentences when I go to speak and misuse the Lord’s name. For that, I am grateful. One thing that I do not want to do is upset Him.

In today’s society, because He is not first in everyone’s life, it has become acceptable to just say his name without any kind of reverence. His name is perfect for exasperating a feeling, or depicting a frustration, and honestly … for many it has become just another word in the English language. We have become a society where we say we praise Him, but then we mock Him with his name.

Today, as we go to His house and sing His praises, may He forgive us for our shortcomings when we fail to show reverence to Him in our daily conversations. When spit out ‘Jesus Christ’ because something does not go as we planned. Or ‘God dam…” because we are mad or trying to produce a different atmosphere. Will you join me in remembering that His name is the Highest and should be regarded as he commanded in the Ten Commandments?

Be blessed.

**You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. –Exodus 20:7
