*1Co 4:16 - Therefore I urge you, be imitators of me.

*1Co 11:1 - Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ

*Eph 5:1 - Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children

*1Th 1:6 - You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word during great affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit

*1Th 2:14 - For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, for you also endured the same sufferings at the hands of your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews

*Heb 6:11-12 - Hebrews 6:11-12 - And we desire that each one of you demonstrate the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and endurance inherit the promises

The word, "imitator" here in Old Greek is μιμητής (mimētēs). It means follower. We are to imitate - follow, but more than just follow. It's basically this: "Do what I do, the way I do it. Step where I step, the way I step there. Say what I say, in the way I say it." A word that is associated with this is "mimic".

Jesus said to Peter and Andrew, "Follow Me" (Matthew 4:18-20, Mark 1:16-20). This is what Jesus asked of them, and asks of us now. Not just to believe, but to do as He did the way He did it, walk the way He did, say what He said the way He said it. I have to ask myself daily: How can I imitate Christ today? How can I be more like Him?
