BEWARE OF WHAT RELIGION PRODUCES

Religion without the true revelation of Christ often produces fear, bondage, hypocrisy, pride, condemnation, and self-righteousness.
Instead of leading people into the liberty and grace of God, it keeps many trapped in outward performance while their hearts remain far from God.

Jesus did not come to establish a system of religious activities;

He came to give life, truth, and relationship with the Father through Himself.

1.*Religion Produces Bondage*

Religion places people under heavy burdens of rules and regulations that they cannot truly fulfill.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.— Galatians 5:1

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear… — Romans 8:15

When people believe acceptance with God depends on their works, they live in constant fear and frustration.

2.*Religion Produces Hypocrisy*

Religion focuses more on outward appearance than inward transformation.

Jesus rebuked the Pharisees because they appeared holy outwardly but were corrupt inwardly.

This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. — Matthew 15:8

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! — Matthew 23:27

True Christianity is not pretending before men;
it is Christ transforming the heart.

3.*Religion Produces Pride and Self-Righteousness*

Religion makes people trust in their own efforts instead of depending on Christ.

Being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness… — Romans 10:3

The religious mindset compares itself with others and seeks validation through works, titles, and appearances.

But salvation is by grace through faith, not by human effort.

For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works… — Ephesians 2:8-9

4.*Religion Produces Condemnation*

Religion constantly reminds people of their failures without revealing the finished work of Christ.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. — John 1:17

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. — Romans 8:1

Christ came to redeem mankind, not to keep people under guilt and condemnation.

5.*Religion Produces Distance From God*

Many people become busy with church activities yet never truly know God personally.

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof… — 2 Timothy 3:5

*Religion gives rituals*

Christ gives relationship.

*Religion says, “Work to be accepted.*

Christ says, “You are accepted through Me.

Religion without Christ produces fear, bondage, hypocrisy, pride, and condemnation. But the gospel of Christ produces life, freedom, righteousness, peace, and intimacy with God.

Jesus did not come to make men religious; He came to make them new creations.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature… — 2 Corinthians 5:17

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. — John 8:32
