Creation Series: Day 5
Resting in the Creator
“By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested.”
Genesis 2:2-3
God did not rest because He was tired. He rested because His work was complete. By setting apart the seventh day, He established a pattern for humanity.
In a culture that constantly pushes for more productivity, God’s example reminds us of the importance of rest. We were not created to run endlessly without pause.
Biblical rest is more than taking a break. It is trusting God enough to stop striving and remember that He is in control. Rest is an act of faith.
When we rest in God, we acknowledge that our worth is not found in what we accomplish but in who we belong to. The Creator invites us to find peace in His presence.
Reflection Questions
* Do you make time to rest spiritually and physically?
* What keeps you from trusting God enough to slow down?
* How can you intentionally spend time with God this week?
~Closing Prayer~
Father, teach me to rest in You. Help me release my worries, my striving, and my need to control everything. Remind me that You are the Creator and Sustainer of all things. May I find peace in Your presence. Amen.
Remember, God loves you and so do I.
