GOD'S WORD FOR THE DAY
“Returning to God”
Judges 10:16
“So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord.”
This is the Word of God. Judges chapter 10 shows Israel turning away from God and suffering the consequences of their sin. Yet when they genuinely repented and removed their idols, they returned to the Lord. God's discipline was meant to bring His people back into a right relationship with Him.
We, too, can allow other things to take God's rightful place in our hearts. But when we sincerely repent and turn back to Him, He is always ready to receive us with mercy.
May we cast aside every idol and remain faithful to the Lord who lovingly calls us back to Himself. Amen.
