Daily Bread Fellowship — Friday Encouragement

ā€œBe still, and know that I am God.ā€ — Psalm 46:10

As another busy week comes to a close, it is important for us to pause and reflect upon the goodness, mercy, and faithfulness of our God. Many of us have spent the week working, serving, caring for our families, meeting responsibilities, and facing the ordinary challenges of daily life. Yet through it all, the Lord has been with us.

Too often we rush from one task to another without taking time to recognize the countless blessings we receive each day. The air we breathe, the food we eat, the people we love, the strength to continue, and the grace that sustains us all come from the loving hand of our Heavenly Father.

As this Friday unfolds, make plans to spend some private time with the most important Person in your life. Find a quiet place. Open His Word. Speak with Him in prayer. Reflect upon His faithfulness throughout the week. Thank Him for the blessings you noticed and for the mercies you may have overlooked.

Let this be more than preparation for another church service. Let it be preparation for a close and personal encounter with the living God as we gather to worship Him on Sunday. Worship begins long before we enter the church doors. It begins with a heart that is humbled, grateful, and eager to draw near to the Lord.

May we enter this weekend with thankful hearts, rejoicing in His goodness and preparing ourselves to worship our Almighty and Holy Heavenly Father with sincerity, reverence, and joy.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness throughout this week. Help us to slow down and spend time in Your presence. Open our hearts to recognize Your blessings and mercies that surround us each day. Prepare our hearts for worship and draw us into a deeper relationship with You through our Lord Jesus Christ. May our lives bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
