Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Let me introduce you to the biggest ‘oxymoron’ I can think of … Karalee Ratliff. I am a slob, but I like things in their place. I am efficient(ish) in tasks but procrastinate terribly. I like to look good, but don’t care what others think about my attire. I love to write but hate to read. I am an adult (in age) but a complete child at heart. I am a child of God, yet a sinner, nonetheless.
Any of those statements seem off or incorrect? Because … I am open to constructive criticism but will defend my position relentlessly.
Oxymoron: a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction
In the world’s eyes, these attributes disqualify me for heaven. You cannot have one along with the other. You must be one, not both. Here is the great thing about the Good News, the world has no say in it. The world can only try to persuade … they cannot convict. I am all of those things. Absolutely … one hundred percent and then some. Yet, I sit here knowing … without a doubt … that unless I turn my back and renounce my Father in heaven and His ways, I will be weeping at His feet one day. That is not arrogance, that is Peace.
As conflicted as I am, as different in all aspects of living as I am, if I can have unfettered peace about where I am going to spend eternity, then you can to. My posts each day are to bring Light into your darkness. To introduce the Father, if you have not met him. To so show you that what the enemy and the world are speaking is false and that it is a simple step to finding this peace. In many ways, I am no different than anyone else … even other Christians … we all have our ‘quirks’, yet a true follower of Christ knows in their heart … the Truth.
My friends, God is not a myth. He is not a tyrant. He is not a dictator. He is a Parent. As a parent, I want to spend time with my kids as much as possible, especially now that they are grown. God is no different in that area. He only wants to spend time with us. He takes what he can get but is always open to more. When I am with my mother, I do all that I can to make her happy. It is her day … always. When I spend time with God, I do all that I can to make him happy. It is His time … always.
Today, where I am, it is overcast. Rain is a certainty. My yard really needs it. However, the rain presents as dreary and gloomy when, in fact, today will bring life back to the soil. As you look out your window, if you are experiencing the same weather, look past the dark clouds and see the beauty of the life-giving water falling from the sky. Give thanks. Embrace the peace that it brings. Enjoy his presence and have a chat. See what He would like to discuss, I bet you will be amazed that He merely wants to discuss how you are doing. It is a wonderful time. Today is a perfect day to spend time with Him.
Be blessed.
**Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. – Psalm 138:7
